Uplink Source is a third party Half-Life 2 mod. It is a total conversion of the Half-Life demo (Half-Life: Uplink). The main goal of this project is to recreate the original from A to Z, taking full advantage of the Source engine features.

The new forums are in da place !

Hello everybody, this news is here to announce you that the new forums are at last here, with a new skin, you can enjoy it now, and post your observations, ideas, compliments :D, critics, apply for a job and learn the latest news about the mod.

A new section "Your creations" permits you to show your work under Hammer or your Half-Life 2 models :p

We take advantage of this news to tell you the recent coming of a new texture artist (spartan117ak) who is going to be really useful to work faster.

Third Media Release

This is a little bit late that we make you enjoy this third Media Release in what you can find 3 new screenies of the "Sewers" level from Uplink Source.

Indeed, our studies and other problems took us a lot of time, we went through few delays, but the mod isn't dead !! The proof is this map that Wenceslas is finishing, and that the team is working hard to give you the best from the Source Engine.
Hoping that thoses screenshots will make you hungry of the mod :)

Concerning the forum boards, having not much time and preferring working on my studies, I haven't been able to make a good skin. But my school year finishes soon (my studies too, by the way), then be prepared to have a completely new look for the forum.

By the way, we are currently looking for mappers, modellers and texture artists for the mod, so if you are interested, do not hesitate !! (or if you only want to help us, you are welcome).

Uplink Source is recruiting !

The Uplink Source team is currently looking for :

  • 2 Experienced Level designers/mappers
    • Please show us some of your work and/or porfolio.
    • You need a good knowledge of brushworking, optimisation and lights.
    • Very good skill level in Level design for single player maps and also a very good knowledge of the Half-Life's world and spirit.
  • 3 Experienced modelers knowing the Source Engine
    • Please show us some of your work and/or porfolio.
    • You must be able to create realistic, mechanicals (weapons, doors, computers ...) and organic (aliens, NPCs) models.
    • Advanced knwoledge of UVW mapping required and ability to make realistic textures and materials recomanded.
  • 2 Experienced Texture artists
    • Please show us some of your work and/or porfolio.
    • Advanced skills to create realistic textures of walls,ground, skybox, skins for models.
    • Advanced knowledge of UVW mapping, bump mapping and making VMT files.
  • 2 Experienced animators
    • Please show us some of your work and/or porfolio.
    • Knowledge of model animation for characters, aliens and weapons
  • 1 Concept artist
    • Please show us some of your work and/or porfolio.
    • Very good knowledge of the Half-Life's world and spirit
  • 1 Experienced coder in C++ and Source language
    • Please show us some of your work and/or porfolio.
    • Advanced knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Source coding and scripting for Half-Life 2.

Second Media Release

Here is second Media Release !! :)

Despite the school, that slow us womewhat, we are able to find time to keep making the mod. And it is far from dying !!
En effet, comme vous l'attendiez tous (on prie tous les soirs pour que ça soit le cas) voici les nouveaux media.

Au programme : 4 nouveaux screens de la première partie du jeu (b0a1) par Frère d'Arme et ... la nouvelle bande son du jeu !!!
Les musiques de cette bande son ont été entièrement réalisées par Jon Adamich (Phoenix85), nous espérons vraiment qu'elles seront à la hauteur de ce que vous attendez.
Vous pouvez l'écouter sans la télécharger directement depuis notre site web.

First Media Release !

Here is the first view of the mod : 4 screen captures and 3 renders of 3D models.

We are already working on the continuation to offer you the best and to make a quality mod.
Of course, some improvements can be added to better fit your desires, in any case, we hope you'll appreciate this media release !
A new version of the internal alpha has been made : 0.0.5, it has a lot of improvements for the gameplay.

Here we go ! the team is now composed by 10 members !


Release of the alpha 0.0.4

A new version of the mod is now available for the team then not for you ^^ You'll have to be patient, doesn't seem but there's a lot of work :)
Few models are finished, other are in progress, like some maps and graphical effects have been added.
